MISSION
The mission of Monte del Sol charter school is to challenge each member of its community, both youth and adult, to be a life-long learner and responsible community member or leader; and to support the education necessary for each individual to realize his or her potential.SIZE AND FUNCTIONALITY OF SITE
Monte del Sol Charter School is located on 3.785 acres in the Nava Ade subdivision. The school has built some permanent buildings and makes use of some temporary buildings.INFRASTRUCTURE (ON-SITE AND OFF-SITE)
Monte del Sol Charter School is located in a new residential area and at the end of Walking Rain Road. Paved parking for 112 cars, a parent drop-off lane and a service drive to a loading dock are provided. The north, east and south sides of the site are open space with natural vegetation. Visitor and staff parking is primarily on the south and west side of the school. An adjacent site of 3.5 acres to the south is currently used for the portable classroom location, an unpaved bus drop-off lane, and additional parking. This auxiliary site has no security or night lighting. The MDS Foundation plans to buy the auxiliary site, which would increase the school site to 7 acres. While the addition of 3.5 acres will help provide room for facility expansion, providing athletic field facilities will most likely require additional acreage. An interior courtyard provides an outdoor gathering space for students. Concrete walkways provide a common link between portable classrooms and the rest of the school. (SFPS Charter School Evaluation 2006)

ATTENDANCE
Monte del Sol Charter School is located in the Nava Adé subdivision. Students may attend this charter school from throughout the district. Transportation is provided in the morning for students by either the middle or high school bus that services the area. The students are then shuttled to Monte Del Sol. In the afternoon, four buses take the students home, since the bell schedule does not accommodate the district by shuttling students.See the following map.
